Bio

I am a marketer with a skill-set that is both analytical and creative.

As a rising college senior, I am pursuing a double major in marketing and law. During my time at university, I have taken career-specific courses that have provided me with foundational knowledge necessary for success in the digital marketing industry. I have applied my classroom learning to address real-world marketing issues while leading Champlain’s student-run PR firm, Maple Street Media.

My passion for creative storytelling has led me to focus on content marketing and copywriting. I have contributed to several client projects throughout my various internships.

While still a student, I gained my first freelance client and honed my skills in client relations and social media strategy. This has helped me to assist companies in establishing and creating social media plans that set them up for future success.

Brand Identity

During my internship at BootstrapVT, I ensured the maintenance of their brand identity on social media by integrating consistent typography and a color palette.

Marketing Research and Planning

Through my university studies, I gained valuable experience in marketing research and planning, including performing a digital audit for a real client and creating data-supported marketing plans. Additionally, I helped a local fashion boutique integrate sustainability efforts and a new product line into their marketing plan using market research and data.

The final project for a university course focused on creating a business and marketing plan for a product and company that I had imagined. The plan aimed to provide a better understanding of how to successfully introduce the product to the market and outlined the tactics that would be used to create a strong five-year marketing plan. This project helped me understand how researchers, data analysts, marketers, and sales teams work together to ensure that a business runs smoothly and how their individual focuses and skills can be combined. As a result, I refined my product marketing and management skills.

Email Marketing

I helped create emails for Vermont Health Equity using MailChimp. The emails were aimed at sharing important information about upcoming COVID vaccine clinics in the community, and I also shared key data from lead reporters such as the CDC regarding COVID infection rates and vaccine updates with the public.

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY

I assisted a new brand in developing a social media strategy for promoting their events and vendors. I began by outlining the pillars of content that would guide their social media plan and content calendar. Additionally, I created a color palette for them to use as a guideline when creating posts that was in line with their apple and fall theme. As their social media manager, I was able to apply this strategy myself when creating graphics and content for them, and they were able to share it with their paid media team to ensure consistent branding throughout their marketing strategies.

Copywriting

While interning at OKAY-OKAY!! Marketing Creative, I served as the lead copywriter for the Vermont Health Equity Initiative client account. As part of my role, I drafted long-form blog content for the non-profit, conducting research on complex health data and studies and transforming it into easily digestible information for the general public. The long-form content I created was subsequently adapted and repurposed for use on their social media channels.

For a marketing research report for a local fashion boutique I created two buyer personas that would help the company better understand the target market of their boutique, including their passions, and provide best practices for creating a marketing strategy that would connect with their target consumers on a personal level.

Social Media Marketing

Through working on various client accounts, I have gained experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Establishing pillars of content and creating a social media strategy
  • Brainstorming content ideas
  • Conducting social media trend research
  • Creating and adhering to a content calendar
  • Utilizing tools such as Canva to create eye-catching graphics
  • Composing engaging and thought-provoking captions using my copywriting skills
  • Using tools such as Later.com and Sprout Social to schedule posts
  • Making data-driven adjustments to social media strategy using analytics tools.

I continue to grow my digital marketing skill set and confidence working in the industry with a willingness and desire to learn and absorb new information every day.
